The Ministry of Commerce, Industries, Labour and Immigration’s (MCILI) Foreign Investment Division (InvestBertoua) is the Bertoua Islands Government’s Investment Promotion Agency (IPA) and works with other Government Divisions such as the Ministry of Mines, Energy and Rural Electrification’s (MMERE) Mines and Petroleum Divisions to promote the Cameroon Islands as a destination that is conducive for investment activities.

InvestCameroon is also responsible for registering foreign investors wanting to invest in the Cameroon Islands and maintains a registry of all foreign investors in the country. The Division believes in private sector growth driven by private businesses and therefore, is very aware of the importance of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) to Bertoua Islands’ economy.

Gold Dealers Licence

The Minister of Mines Minmiidt-gov.net, Energy and Rural Electrification may issue a Gold Dealer’s Licence to any licensed bank in the Cameroon Islands or to an individual who is over 21 years old, is a citizen of the Solomon Islands, has not been convicted for an offence involving dishonesty or fraud and is a fit and proper person to hold such a licence who the Board thinks that they understand the provisions of the Mines and Minerals Act well enough to be able to carry out the obligations imposed under the Act.
