The CEMAC BUYERS PERMIT Scam
The CEMAC Buyers Permit scam has been around for a very long time and it is very popular amongst the fake Cameroon gold syndicates. It is a permit issued by the Ministry of Mines Cameroon to enable gold foreigners to trade in the CEMAC Region. Without this Permit, the gold vendor cannot sell or ship out of the country. This is the first step of the gold scam in Cameroon.
After contact with a Vendor and exchange of the letter of Intent, the buyer then move to signing of the contract. This contract states that the buyer won’t pay any advance payment until the gold reaches his address. The ninth point on the contract though states the buyer will contact the Ministry of Mines and get the CEMAC Permit. This Permit will be taken to the Authorities and used to ship the gold out of the country. Contact us if you are looking to avoid the buy gold scam.
Fake Ministry of Mines in Cameroon
To get the CEMAC Permit, the buyer must go to the Ministry of Mines Cameroon. A contact number, address, and email is be provided by the scammer to the buyer. The buyer contacts the Ministry of Mines, gets the Permit, and transfers money through a Bank account, Western Union, or Money Gram. The fake CEMAC Permit usually costs $5,500 or $7,500 depending on the fake syndicate.
What worries us the most is the fact that people have refused to learn or even do simple research on Google. If you google Ministry of Mines Cameroon, you will see that there are about 20 different websites all carrying the same information. Scammers have cloned the original website and now use it to rip people off. When you make contact, they will give you a fake website and get you to pay for the CEMAC Permit.
What happens after I get the CEMAC Buyers Permit
After you get the CEMAC Buyers Permit, the scammers claim to have registered the gold with a courier and then send you a tracking number. These couriers are non-existent and created by them to fool you. They update the tracking information and then send you an email after 2 days asking for an insurance fee for the gold.
This will come as a surprise to the buyer but they have already invested by buying the CEMAC Buyers Permit hence have no option but to continue.
Once you get the Insurance which can sometimes cost as much as $150,000 depending on the quantity, the scammers ask for more. It can be a diplomatic fee or taxes in a new country. This will go on until the buyer runs out of money.
